Monthly Archives: April 2011

A few of my favorite things (April)

Here are a few of my favorite things this month…

1.     Tervis Tumblers~ They don’t sweat, they come in a variety of cute logos, and they have a lifetime warranty.  I dropped mine and it broke.  They are sending me a new one for free!  Love!

2.     I’ve been very behind on my scrapbooking.  Until recently, I had nothing of Taylor after she hit 6 months.  A friend of mine, AKA the Queen of Scrapbooking, works at Archivers (Love!) and posted on her blog about a way to catch-up on scrapbooking AND it’s stress free.  This is totally the way to go!

3.  One of my favorite things is this video my brother Scott made for Taylor (he calls her Gracie) this past Christmas.  It’s of Taylor’s first year.  Tay loves watching herself.

4.  Cuties~ I love clementines but hate the seeds.  I bought a bag of Cuties the other day and I’m hooked (Taylor Tot too).  Love they are seedless, easy to peel, and super delicious.  Between Taylor and I we ate a 3-lb bag in less than 2 days.  Yum!

5.   I’m loving the fact that Summer Break is 4 weeks away.  I can’t wait to spend time with my Taylor Tot!  Love this video of Tay I took today.  How much does Mommy love her?

Rejoice with your family in the beautiful land of life! ~Albert Einstein

Devin’s mom, Pam, did a wonderful job hosting Easter dinner.  It was so nice to have our parents together instead of balancing between the two families.  We also had a surprise visit from Devin’s grandmother, Nanny.  Love her!

Happy Easter

Easter Morning 2011

Happy Easter!

Taylor never complains about me fixing her hair or dressing her until THIS morning.  Really?!?  You had to pick Easter Morning.  She wanted to wear her swimsuit, one sandal, and an Elmo sock with her black kitty shoes.  Now she would have been a sight.  Luckily we all made it out of the house in one piece AND dressed for church this morning.

Mommy and Taylor Tot before church.  Still not happy she can’t wear her outfit.

Walking into church~ Tay telling me what the Easter Bunny is going to bring her.

***Cheese***

Here’s Tay’s Easter Basket~ Puzzles, books, bubbles, a hat, Hello Kitty container with bunny marshmallows, and a kitty kitty that purrs, moves, and meows.

The Easter Bunny came after church because Tay slept in a bit.  🙂

Finding the Easter loot

Went straight towards the marshmallows

Ohhh, puzzle!

Petting her new kitty

It purrs!

Daddy: “Okay Taylor… take one”

Taylor: “I did take one Daddy~ one handful”  Haha!

Playing with her puzzle

Showing Daddy how she can put her new puzzle together all by herself

Daddy reading Tay’s new Elmo book~ very intense~ I don’t think she ever blinked.  Haha!

However, here is the true meaning of Easter…

THE RESURRECTION

We hold so close to our hearts
The cross where Jesus died
But so much more than the blood-stained cross
Is that Jesus came back to life

The stone’s been rolled away
The tomb lay open and bare
They looked for Him, and then the angel said
That He is no longer here

Oh what joy they must have felt
To see Him just once more
To eat with Him, to drink with Him
To receive Him back as Lord

So much did He accomplish
Through His death upon the cross
And in His rising from the dead
He reconciled us back to God

Nothing else could bridge the gap
That sin had wrenched apart
Now we can freely go to God
And receive Christ in our hearts

Some Bunny’s Having An Easter Egg Hunt

We took Taylor to an Easter Hunt at my old Elementary School today.  It was kind of exciting to see Tay hunt on the field where I use to go out for recess and hunted for eggs many years ago.  She had a blast.  Of corse she picked the only muddy place on the whole field to get her eggs~ I guess it’s the tomboy in her.  Haha!

Before the hunt

“I have my basket and ready to get some eggs!”

Kisses for “Big Hop Hop” before we go

Pretty Tay

They passed out bubbles while we waited for the hunt to start

Tay loves to blow bubbles

Ready…Set…Go!

The prissy way to pick up an Easter Egg

Getting the hang of it

“WOW!  There are more!”

By the end she wanted to carry her basket all by herself

Upset because Mommy is too close to her basket

“It’s too heavy that my arm is hurting, but nobody can get close to my basket!”

Had to get a pick with Taylor at my old Elementary School.  I loved being a Davis Tiger!

Tay’s First Easter Egg Hunt

I love, love, love that Tay’s teacher loves to take pics of her class.  I hate that I missed her first egg hunt but I’m so glad I have pics of it.  🙂  Her teacher said it was a hoot to watch.  The kids grasp the concept of putting things in their baskets, but they rather put woodchips then eggs.  Haha!

Taylor’s class starting their egg hunt (Tay in the back with the big pink bow :))

Tay always wants to see what she looks like in the viewer.  She doesn’t get that you have to take a picture first.  🙂

Amazed by all the eggs

Love this pic!  “Okay Girlfriends… these are my eggs!” *with a snap of the fingers*

“I need more eggs pleeaase”

Figuring out there is a prize in the eggs

Weekend Recap

This was a super extra long and fun weekend for me.  I left Thursday for a Scrapbooking Retreat with some amazing people.  So fun!  We laughed until we cried, ate some of the most amazing food, oh, and scrapbooked a little.  🙂  Fun times!

I did miss my Taylor Tot and hubby.  I was able to get home in time for church~ which happened to be Palm Sunday.  All the children walked in waving their palm branches and stood in front of the congregation to sing a song.  Taylor Tot got a little too into the waving of the palm branch and my face became the victim.  Since I’m a Mommy of a toddler I had to stand with Tay in front of the church and help out with the song.  Tay showed no interest in the song but proceed to get on all fours and kiss my feet throughout.  Weird kid.

Later today we went to Wal-Mart to look for water toys to go in Tay’s new water table I got for $2 at a yard sale~ score!  In the water toy/ inflatable pool section THIS was on the box of not one but TWO different inflatable pools.  See anything wrong with the pictures?!?  Devin says no.  Never thought I would have to have Tay cover her eyes while going in the toy section.  The 2nd pic is the best. Really?!?!

After the Playboy Shop Walmart, we went out for some yummy Mexican food.  Waiting for the check Tay put on Mommy’s sunglasses and kept saying “cool”.  🙂

SO sad the weekend is over.  However, 30 days and counting until summer break!  Yahooooooo!
