This month has flown by. I haven’t had a chance to enjoy much this month due to report cards, parent conferences, benchmark testing, lesson plans~ in addition to housework. Only 3 more days untill Spring Break! YAY!
1. Loving my Kohl’s Cash~ bought some new capris. Now if it can only stay warm long enough to wear them. Arg!
2. Pita Chips~ They are on sale this week at Publix. I love to dip them in humus. Yummo!
3. Purfume~ Body by Victoria~ Love
4. Spending time with the hubs. Last weekend we went to the movies to see The Adjustment Bureau. Maybe it’s because I haven’t seen a movie in a while, but I think it’s one of the best movies I’ve seen in a LONG time.
5. Watching my Taylor Tot learn and grow.
My brother came to visit tonight from New Orleans. Tay loves her Uncle Scott. My brother took this picture of Taylor Tot enjoying the banana pudding she made for him. Sweetness.
Lesson I learned from Taylor Tot this morning~ never give up! Get back on the horsey and ride again!
She’s only allowed to have the paci in her bed and she was caught with it. Make sure to turn up the volume. Too funny! Sorry for the scary, raspy voice. I’ve been without a voice for going on 5 days. Georgia pollen~ Arg!
I’ve been trying to teach Tay her colors. She can say yellow, brown, green, and blue; however, blue she picks out almost every time.
Three weeks ago Taylor Tot had this deathly fear of the bathtub. The fear progressively got worse. It started off when Devin was out-of-town and she went ballistic when her toys got wet. The other night after dinner Devin and I were strategizing our bath time routine and one of us said the word “bath” and Taylor started crying so hard she threw-up. For two looooong weeks Taylor Tot shook like a leaf and won’t step foot in the bathroom much less the tub. I started by placing her favorite toys in her bathroom. We played for a little while and I kept moving them closer to the tub. About halfway she looked at me with this I’m no dummy look and said “no bath” and that was the end of that. I felt like I tried everything: getting in the tub with her, buying new toys, letting her have her paci, filling the tub first/ last,…. It made me crazy. I googled searched this issue and the first article to pop up was from Dr. Sears. He said toddler fears of bath time is very common. He said as fast as the fear comes it will leave. Sure enough the other day out of the blue Tay ran into the bathroom and started putting her toys in the tub saying “bath?” Of course I wasn’t going to say no, so I filled the tub and placed her in. Not only did she play but SHE DUNKED HER HEAD IN THE WATER! Who is this child?!? She never does that. Now, after a week of her splashing, laughing, head dunking, and playing we can now say she’s back to being a bath baby! Yay!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I’ve spent the afternoon chasing around a little leprechaun. I swear she snuck one of Devin’s Mnt. Dew’s because she’s been into anything and everything and laughing nonstop!
Okay… on to other things. The hubs is officially in the doghouse. This evening we went to the local park in Downtown Canton. As we were pushing Taylor Tot in the swing we ran into a couple that we happen to see there all the time and started small talk. The couple said they couldn’t believe the park was open. I couldn’t understand why the park would be closed on such a beautiful day and asked the question anyone would ask… why? In a you-don’t-know? kind of tone they proceeded to tell me that Jennifer Garner was filming just yards away. WhAt! And then my
so thoughtful, loving husband said, “oh yeah honey. Anthony told me she would be filming here this week.” I gave him “the look” that only comes out twice a year. Seriously, SERIOUSLY? I LOVE Jennifer Garner. He knows I love Jennifer Garner. I’ve just been following her since like the Alias days and Thirteen Going on Thirty. We had to drive by and she was out filming on the stairs of the Performance Art Building with a huge camera crew. I think I’m going to stalk her tomorrow. 🙂
Here is the reason I haven’t blogged in a few days. I feel like Tay spinning in circles. Less than 3 weeks till Spring Break!!! YAY
