Please pray for the Staat’s family. I don’t know them personally but their story has been heavy on my heart. I can’t imagine what they are going through and pray I never will. Their 4 month old daughter, Madison, stopped breathing in her sleep at a babysitters house on February 18th and went to heaven.
There will be an auction held tomorrow (28th) for the Staat’s family. It’s called The Tiny Wings Auction – In Memory of Madison Paige Staats. You can go here to visit the auction.
The angels are always near to those who are grieving, to whisper to them that their loved ones are safe in the hand of God. ~Quoted in The Angels’ Little Instruction Book
My friend Lori posted this on Facebook and I got a good laugh out of it. I’m a terrible speller so I hope Devin doesn’t get attacked by a warthog any time soon. 🙂
I did a horrible thing. On Valentine’s Day I was so overwhelmed with Devin spoiling me that I forgot to give him his valentine. I know… terrible right?!? He never said anything. Several (yes I said several) days later I was digging in my Mary Poppins purse and found his card and valentine. I was hiding it in my purse because Reese’s peanut butter cups are Devin’s absolute favorite and he would so find it if I hid it somewhere else. I was so excited about giving it to him that I can’t believe I forgot. They were heart-shaped Reese Cups. Anyways, when he got home from work I apologized and gave it to him. He had to open one up right away. Since it was in my purse so long it melted. The look on his face when he opened up his MELTED heart-shaped Reese was priceless. I said the only thing that came to mind… “I just want you to know you melt my heart.” It’s been a big joke ever since.
So, this week he’s out of town for work and to make it up to him I sewed buttons on 7 pairs of pants for him~ almost 5 years of marriage worth. And, I bought him Reese’s Eggs and he’s other favorite, Cadbury Eggs. 🙂
This week I’ve been feeling super crafty. I went to Goodwill yesterday to find something for my latest craft (coming soon~ super cute eek!). Since I was there I had to go to the Taylor Tot section to see if there were any good finds and SCORE!
Two super cute dresses for… drum roll please… $3.40 total!
On the way home Tay was singing to herself the Mickey Mouse Club song in which she loves so much, “Hot Dog, Hot Dog, Hot Diggidy Dog.” I guess she’s becoming a happy shopper like her mommy! 🙂
This is from my friend Rebecca who found it from www.bestsimplerecipes.com. She brought some of it to work and heated it for left-overs. It smelled so yum I had to make it myself. Devin was kind of skeptical about it since there were snow peas (Tay~ please don’t be picky like your daddy); however, he gave it a two thumbs-up and wanted seconds (just so you know he ate the snow peas~ heehee). 🙂

Tay’s new favorite thing is to hide in her closet. I knew something was up when I was starting her bath and Tay ran in her room, closed the door, and was super quite. When I went in she was nowhere to be found. I then heard giggling from inside her closet and found her sucking on her paci that she is only allowed to have at bed time/ car. Since she’s been sick
Gran, Gammie, and Daddy some people have been giving Tay her paci so I’ve been the paci burglar.
Another fav of Tay’s is to play in Mommy’s laundry basket. She calls it her boat. Note to self~ Don’t place folded laundry back in “the boat” unless I have nothing better to do and want to refold laundry all day.
I new thing I just discovered is Tay’s love of cooking. Her new thing right now is to take cupcake wrappers and pull them apart and then stack them. She does this over and over again. Entertainment for a while~ rock on! Oh, and Tay’s missing her shirt because make-up was ALL over it right before this pic was taken. Even baby proofing my make-up drawer she still gets in!
Okay… So we were doing pretty good until about the 18 month mark on not getting sick. Several weeks ago pneumonia and now last night with a 104.5 temp at the ER we found out little Taylor Tot has strep! Poor Tay! She’s so sweet even when she’s sick. A few weeks about she started saying Mommy after everything. Hi Mommy… Bye Mommy… This Mommy. However hearing her say “Thank you Mommy” with her pitiful sick voice after giving her meds just breaks my heart. 😦
On the good note… IT’S WINTER BREAK! Yay to week breaks!
